About Karen Lee Ensley
As a published writer and professional photographer, I have a passion to explore, to learn and to delve into a locale to find the most interesting features. I seek to photograph the beautiful, the bizarre and the places people want to see.
Along with my husband and three daughters, I have stood on mountaintops and rappelled inside a cave. To get a first-person story, I drove a racecar-- I had to quickly learn to drive stick shift before I was racing 160mph around the track with white knuckles and wondering if I remembered what to do when I got to pit row...
It was my privilege to be one of three photographers to photograph then U.S. Vice President Al Gore receiving an award.
I was called to mission in two distinctly different regions of the world, Malawi and Honduras. In both countries I had the opportunity to live and work with the native people, providing an amazing insight into their cultures and lifestyles.
My work has been published nationally and internationally in books, magazines, newspapers, brochures and calendars.
