Description
Three small figures walk on the long dirt road toward the sacred peak known as Shiprock. Located on Navajo Nation land in New Mexico, in the United States, this massive mountain rises to 7,178 feet above sea level. The impressive peak juts from mostly flat land and can be seen from great distances.
To the Native Americans known as the Navajo, the mountain is called, Tse`Bit' a'i, meaning rock with wings, or winged rock.
This iconic landmark has appeared in numerous movie settings including: Transformers; The Lone Ranger; and Jumanji: The Next level.
